At Elgin Baptist, we firmly believe in prayer and seek to encourage and create a culture of prayer. Join us every Wednesday evening for a time of corporate prayer.
In the Westminster shorter catechism question 98 asks what is prayer?
Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God, for things agreeable to His will, in the name of Christ, with confession of our sins, and thankful acknowledgement of His mercies.
One of the things that marked out the early church was their commitment to prayer, and we seek to make it a priority. We gather at 7:30pm each Wednesday where there will be a time of praise followed by a short word and then time given to pray. From time to time, we also have visiting mission speakers. From time to time the Sunday evening service is also given over to prayer.
